Region Spring Conferences

What is a Spring Conference; why do you need to know when yours is being held;  why would you want to attend? This end-of-year celebration is where you will connect with other unit and council members from your region, and where you will have the opportunity to network with your Region Associate Directors, Assistant Directors and Region Chairmen. There will be award presentations, great camaraderie, perhaps a timely and informative workshop, door prizes, and adoption of region bylaws if needed. Spring Conference is the Annual Meeting for your region. It is required in the region bylaws and is the platform for the presentation of the year-end business that must be conducted. Committee reports are presented, membership awards, and special recognitions are given. Of great importance is the election of the region officers for the coming year and the election of the nominating committee members. They will be elected by you, the delegates, who make up the “general membership”. Please remember that as an elected PTA officer, it is your obligation to ensure that your unit or council is represented. We welcome your participation and encourage you to be a part of the process. You will be inspired by your region director as he/she takes you on a magical, historical journey of your region PTA accomplishments for the past year. By attending your region Spring Conference, you will be participating at another level of NYS PTA and will return to your units and councils with a renewed sense of connection and understanding of the workings and value of PTA. Together, we truly do have “The Power to Shape the Future”.
