Dear PTA Colleagues,
Empire State PTSA (ESPTSA) is a statewide unit formed in 1979 for those who may no longer be associated with their local school or PTA unit but are still child advocates. However, anyone who is a member of a local PTA unit can also join the ESPTSA as a way of showing support for the association as a whole. You all are, of course, still very active in PTA and as the leaders of our association, are in the best possible position to see the “big picture” of what the “whole association” and its goals really means. It has become for me the preferred method of purchasing my own membership every year and supporting the entirety of PTA’s mission.
Membership in the ESPTSA unit is another way to market PTA and the good work of our association because members can choose to purchase the New York Parent Teacher periodical. This publication gives a fine overview of the work of the association even if someone is long past parenting school age children.
Consider all the possibilities of gifting a membership to a special child advocate in your family or area. It comes directly from a leader in the association, YOU, to spouses, parents, other family members and friends, as well as education colleagues. It also helps you to share your own passion for the work of the association, add more voices to our advocacy efforts and lets them understand a bit why we do what we do for PTA.
Please click here to view the ESPTSA brochure. Empire State PTSA membership is $10.00 per year. For an additional fee of $12.00, you will receive a one-year subscription to New York Parent Teacher periodical. Wouldn’t it be great to have every unit and council represented in the Empire State unit! Thank you so much for your consideration and all you do for PTA!
